Baking| Apple Brown Sugar Meringue Pies for BBC Good Food India … Life is sweet!

Apple Brown Sugar Meringue Pies. Each bite was full of warmth … apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, walnuts. Can’t go wrong with those flavours this season, can you? I made these for the inaugural issue of BBC GoodFood India.

Baking| Apple Strawberry Basil Hand Pies from Beantown Baker {SRC}

Delicious and comforting, hand pies with an apple, strawberry and basil filling. Great grub on the go, and nice for an informal dessert too. Serve with a drizzle of unsweetened cream.

Baking| Cherry Phyllo Pie … sweet cherry pie, with home made phyllo.

I am still amazed at why I didn’t get to making phyllo at home earlier. This is a summer pastry for a country like ours. Light, crisp, versatile, delightful … ah-mazing stuff! The success of home made phyllo won me over when I made Baklava from scratch last month, and soon enough I made another batch of dough. This time it ended up rather deliciously in a Cherry Phyllo Pie.

Coffee Macarons & Pumpkin Pie Spice too – I’d FALL for these anyday!

It’s MacTweets Attack Season 13…lucky for some, unlucky for none we hope! It’s to do with fall. This is the time of the year in the Northern Hemisphere where the leaves turn red, gold, auburn … where the days grow dark and cold. What does Fall mean to you? My fall macarons are coffee for the warmth of the season, and pumpkin pie spice for all things nice! I found feet twice, and ‘fell’ for both!!

Apple Pear Open Pie … come mingle with ‘Fruit in Baking’

Having your pie and eating it too? Yes, possible this time. An open apple-pear pie which has a single crust, and is delicious too. It’s a smart way to cut back calories, and still have healthy pie! Dig in!!
