KIWI FRUIT in a Sponge with Fresh Cream, Almonds & Marmalade
I canāt believe that its time for my 100th post. Phewā¦itās been a long journey by my meagre standards when I entered the world of bloggers a few months ago, with thoughts if I would last it out. Can say Iām having a great time & am still in awe of bloggers whoāve been around for years. Itās a wonderful world out here in the blogosphere which goes by the mantra āTHE MORE, THE MERRIERā!!
My post for today (commemorative, if I may add) is for one of our favesā¦the Kiwi Fruit Cake with almonds & marmalade. Have made this cake before, but thought Iād change it a bit. The recipe is the same as before, but without ground almonds in the cake. Instead, Iāve used a basic sponge recipe as in the pineapple cake, & have added almond essence instead of pineapple essence.
Iāve been tagged for theāLife in Fours Memeā by Shweta who has me drooling over her daalmakhani and chaat! Bet she didnāt know that āchaatā is on my list of fave foods!! It took me some time and surfing to figure out what a āMemeā wasā¦the name puzzled me endlessly, till Shweta enlightened me! Here goesā¦
Four places Iāve lived in: Delhi, India Bangalore, India NOIDA, India Gurgaon, India
Four jobs I ( thankfully never) had:
Teaching ā would have torn my hair out Acting ā wouldāve died of stage-fright Bank teller ā the monotony would kill me Working in a restaurant ā the pressure would ruin my happiness ācoz I like to enjoy what I do at leisure
Four favorite places Iāve holidayed in: Moscow Sydney London Hong Kong
Four favorite foods: Pizza Pasta Chaat (Indian street food) Anything to do with coffee/bitter chocolate
Four places I would rather be: At a potterās wheel Chilling on a beach In a busy spice market in Istanbul In Betty Crockerās Kitchen :0)ā¦
Me-meās are just a way to talk about yourself š They can be of different themes but they always revolve around you. For example āLife In Foursā me-me tells us what your four favorite foods are, what are your four favorite holiday spots etcetraetcetra..the point is just to get to know each other more!

About me: I am a freelance food writer, recipe developer and photographer. Food is my passion - baking, cooking, developing recipes, making recipes healthier, using fresh seasonal produce and local products, keeping a check on my carbon footprint and being a responsible foodie! I enjoy food styling, food photography, recipe development and product reviews. I express this through my food photographs which I style and the recipes I blog. My strength lies in 'Doing Food From Scratch'; it must taste as good as it looks, and be healthy too. Baking in India, often my biggest challenge is the non-availability of baking ingredients, and this has now become a platform to get creative on. I enjoy cooking immensely as well.
