” I asked the barmaid for a quickie. The man next to me said, ‘It’s pronounced ‘quiche’ “… …(on occasional perils of speaking a foreign language)Luigi Amaduzzi, Italian Ambassador in Britain. A MUSHROOM QUICHE… At home, the lines are firmly drawn as far as the quiche story goes…or more suitably, the ‘quiche’ war. On one side, stand the son & me, who are not great egg fans at all; me far worse than him! The rest on the other side. It’s the quintessential question…to quiche or not to quiche? One wonder’s why I make it anyway. Well, firstly the die-hard baker in me overtakes the egg-disliker; & then, I actually…

“Garlic is a habit and a passion.” Kim Upton, Chicago Sun-Times This time the THINK SPICE spice is GARLIC! One of my absolute favourites in savoury flavours. A friend once gave me a Thai basil chicken recipe & said put as much garlic as you think is enough…& then just double the amount! “We have so much time and so little to do. Strike that, reverse it.”Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory View from my window in 2007… That time of the year again; am racing as usual…still so much to do, and so little done. Even the year has almost come to an end! Huff Puff!! Will make an attempt to get onboard Nupur’s blogevent ‘Best of 2007’ to mark the end of 2007…a chance to do a SWOT on ourselves! I’m not sure I’m good at this, but will give it a shot since I committed. Am still pretty new around here, and have been hooked onto blogland only since…

FUSION FOOD…Noodles with Stir-fried veggies & Chicken
“Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what’s for lunch.”Orson Welles FUSION FOOD…Noodles with Stir-fried veggies & chicken This is my attempt to recreate some really delicious Pan Asian food we had the other day. I ended up with a ‘confusion‘ of sorts; not quite authentic, even by my own meagre standards…but delicious nevertheless. We loved it, so did our young lad. Sadly my daughter didn’t enjoy it too much. But for me as a mother, even 50% is passing with flying colours!! With both the kids developing strangely similar tastes one day, and then being poles apart the next, uncertainty at the dinner table is part…
