STRAWBERRY PANNA COTTA WITH A STRAWBERRY COULIS…the one that wouldn’t oblige!
“I leave my fats for dessert.”Bruce Mathews My favourite dessert of all time is a panna cotta. Panna cotta, an Italian dessert, which literally means cooked cream, is luxurious & creamy, eggless & sensual. In winter, we like a deep dark chocolate panna cotta. Come summer & I’m all for fruity flavour. With winter on it’s last legs here, throwing up the odd cold front now & again, strawberries are flooding the market. Good fresh strawberries are available for a shortish period of time, & then they kind of perish in the heat. I made a panna cotta with strawberries the other day because I had 2 boxes in the…

Strawberry Refrigerator Cheesecake
“You can’t just eat good food. You’ve got to talk about it too. And you’ve got to talk about it to somebody who understands that kind of food.” Kurt Vonnegut Jr. Still on a dessert spree. Looks like main course has deserted my blog. Some more strawberries mean some more sweet somethings. Saffron Indian Rice Pudding … sweet indulgence
“I haven’t had the rice pudding of my life today. But I guess I lost that opportunity with the end of my childhood.”William Rice The magical combination of the holiday season & winter gives rise to many rich dessert making opportunities. The nip in the air makes it all the more enjoyable, & dare I say, somewhat guilt free. This is an indulgent pudding we enjoy once in a while…an eggless Indian rice pudding, a recipe I have concocted over the years, & often make on the go. The quality of rice changes from time to time, but the pudding is quite forgiving. Add some milk if it is too…

BOOKMARKED ROUNDUP 22…Guest hosting my first event!
“Recipes without the author, without the cuisine to which they were once a living, seamless part, die.” John Thorne I‘m delighted to be playing host to this week’s round-up of BOOKMARKED RECIPES, a wonderful weekly event hosted by Ruth of Ruth’s Kitchen Experiments. When Ruth asked if I was OK to host her baby for a week, I readily said yes. To tell you the truth, I was literally shivering with fear as I’ve never stepped beyond participating in an event! But, Ruth, being as organised as she is, sent her baby with a impeccable list of instructions & a manual, & it’s been a great experience. Thanks for trusting…
