Glazed lemon Cakes … just like Spring is here!
“Friends are like cupcakes in my pantry of memories.” Anonymous The weather has changed, Spring is in the air. Pretty flowers everywhere, & even though the daytime highs are much higher than normal, the mornings & evenings are just beautiful. There is frenzied activity of birds building nests, butterflies buzzing around… & in the last frame, goatherds coming in from Rajasthan to allow their sheep to graze here. These inspired cupcakes made me feel like Spring. I got a lovely comment from a blogger the other day. Everything about her comment made me feel so good. A bit from it …” I enjoy Indian food and am so lost since my…

‘CITRUS’ DESSERT CAKE – Happiness is…a burst of FRESH flavour!
“Ponder well on this point: the pleasant hours of our life are all connected by a more or less tangible link, with some memory of the table. “ Charles Pierre Monselet ‘CITRUS’ DESSERT CAKE…like a happy sunflower!! Another nice dessert I created from the lemon cake sans sour cream. We had my brother-in-law over for dinner the other day, and as usual, I wanted to try something different. LEMON CAKE…Baked as a gift!!
“I feel a recipe is only a theme, which an intelligent cook can play each time with a variation.” Madam Benoit LEMON CAKE sans sour cream… Made my ‘twisted’ & ‘tangy’ lemon cake again…keeping in mind Zlamushka’s ‘Spoonful of Christmas’. This was a gift for a friend, and looked very pretty when dressed up. Convenient to gift too, since it’s already in a ‘case’! This time I used something very interesting…‘Lemon Sugar’ that my friend got from Ukraine. They have these satchets of lemon sugar that are very citrusy and add a lovely tang and kick to the cake. This recipe made 2 nice loaves…so we had one too! Yippee!!…

A CRUMBLE TO FALL FOR…a healthy Apple Crumble!
“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking successive autumns.” George Eliot Sugar & spice & ‘FALL’ things nice…that’s what I’m made up of! Cinnamon scrolls…adding flavour to the Crumble! A twist to the regular crumble to make it healthier. I have substituted the butter for margarine, and lightly toasted (or roasted) the oats to bring out the crunch and flavour. Apples, cinnamon & walnuts bring out quite the best in each other…as far as taste, colour and warmth go. The only thing missing are the twirling leaves when the south wind blows!! Guess we can…

EASY YOGURT DIP…Serve with Chips/Crudites.Always a hit at any gathering!
“Food is so primal, so essential a part of our lives, often the mere sharing of recipes with strangers turns them into good friends. That’s why I love this community.” Jasmine Heiler, about recipezaar.com HUNG CURD (YOGURT) DIP A really simple, extremely addictive, & tangy dip which is a great add-on to any menu.
