Eggless Chocolate Coffee Vanilla Ombre Cake … simple & delicious

When chocolate, coffee and vanilla come together to create a dreamy ombre cake, it can only be good. Here’s an eggless Chocolate Coffee Vanilla Ombre Cake that is as simple as it is delicious. These are a few of my favourite flavours in a layer cake, and I love the way they come together is beautiful harmony.

What is Ombré?
Ombré is a French word meaning “shaded” or “shadow”. It describes a visual effect where one color or hue blends smoothly into another, typically transitioning from a darker shade to a lighter shade (or vice versa). While this normally finds usage in the hair or fashion industry, ombre desserts are a very popular concept, something I really like exploring. This Ombre Blueberry Cheesecake recipe is one such dessert and you can find several other ombre dessert ideas on my blog.
Building an Eggless Chocolate Coffee Vanilla Ombre Cake
The Eggless Chocolate Coffee Vanilla Ombre Cake can keep as simple or as fancy as you want. It’ll be lovely as a naked cake too, with just a topping of vanilla buttercream or chocolate ganache. If you have the inclination, moisten the slices a little – a simple sugar syrup for the vanilla layer, a coffee syrup for the coffee layer perhaps. More options – A vanilla buttercream would be a great substitute for the chocolate ganache, offering a completely different version of this classic cake. Then, to get Tiramisu feels, you could use a simple 2 ingredient mascarpone to fill the layers, maybe add a dash of espresso powder. If you want the cake to look fancy, go the whole way. While the lace collar is quite optional, it gives the cake a special look, something very unique. It’s a collar I’ve been piping for over 15 years, and it always catches the eye. Try something new. Give this cake your own signature style.

Stunning cake! However, I’m intrigued by the teapot in the background of the photo. Where’s it from?

Thank you so much Nadia. That is a samovar, a Kashmiri tea pot I bought from Srinagar several years ago.
