‘The belly rules the mind.’ Spanish Proverb The Delhi food bloggers got together once again, this time for a meet hosted at the beautiful 19 Oriental Avenue, Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel, New Delhi, with Borges India. Borges is making large forays into the Indian consumer market, trying to increase the acceptability and thereby the adoption of olive oil in Indian cooking, more as a lifestyle change. Vanilla Chocolate and Chocolate Walnut Eggless Cake … back to the basics
“Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” John Wooden It’s time for the Daring Bakers and this time I have to say I’m sorry I couldn’t keep a date with the challenge. My kitchen is ‘under attack‘ {read renovation}, and things are still in disarray. What should have been completed last week is yet to be done, dragging on frustratingly. That’s not to say I haven’t managed to sneak in a bake now and then, but I couldn’t manage the chocolate dipping stage etc of the challenge. I did have a LMP {last minute plan} with some clarified butter on hand. Thought I could…

Caramel Cream Refrigerator Cakes with Roasted Strawberries … tiny delights!
“So many ideas, so much I want to do, so little time… But I love the feeling of being inspired…” Canelle Vanille on Twitter I love the lines above. Saw them on twitter a few days ago, and they stayed in my mind. I went back to look for them today as a quote that is truly reflective of my feelings too!! Aran expressed it beautifully! It’s now the end of the strawberry season here and I giggled with glee looking at my stash of strawberries I had lugged from my recent vacation. Sadly now with the mercury rising, they threaten to spoil very soon. If earlier I could safely…

CHOCOLATE CHIP & BUCKWHEAT COOKIES … Hot Cross Cookies for Easter!!
“And if the Easter Bunny had wings, he would fly.” John Reeves Back from a short holiday and back to the mundanities which include making breakfast! Why do vacations come to an end so quick? Egg time with the kids on an Easter break … Roald Dahl inspired hot house egg for junior, and French toast for the daughter. Bored out of my mind, I began to look for something more fulfilling to do. Eggs remind me of Easter and I decided to put the empty egg shells to good use. I love doodling, so I emptied the eggs out carefully after making a tiny hole at one end. Also…

Gâteau à l’Orange … Orange you glad I made this?
“Orange is the happiest color.” Frank Sinatra Tweeting always has sweet surprises on the deck! The wonderful and talented SaffronBerry girl, found this orange cake when the Persian in her became obesessed about finding an orange cake recipe. As she said, “You’ll know we’re a bit obsessive and weird about our citrus fruit. We hoard it, display it, eat it, drink it, preserve it, dry it, cook it, and I’m sure we’d bake it too if there were a tradition like that of Western baking in Iran, heck we’d probably wear oranges and lemons if we could find a way to.“ I absolutely adored the way she summed up her…
