MOCHA WALNUT CHOC-CHIP MUFFINS…GREEDY GOODNESS!!
“I believe the world to be a muffin pan, and there certainly are a lot of muffins here.” Aaron Funk Mocha Walnut Chocolate-chip Muffins… When I read about theSnackshots #3 event hosted by Michelle @ Greedy Gourmet , I was thrilled. Opportunity to try these mocha muffins I had bookmarked long ago, & soon. Michelle asks “What’s the difference between a muffin and cupcake? …A muffin contains less sugar and doesn’t have icing on top, in other words it’s healthier. ” My choice of muffin is deep, dark, decadent & chocolaty; the flavours enhanced with the addition of coffee. Am still trying to place the source on the net; I…

TIME TO PASS IT ON…an excellent award!
“Friendships develop over food and wine” Prince Nicholas Romanoff I made this cake once again yesterday…really enjoyed doing it. The basic cake is an orange flavoured sponge from a book by Sue Ross. It’s sandwiched with an almond whipped cream & topped with a dark chocolate ganache…really excellent. I made the one below using this recipe for the first time… A Chocolate Orange Gateau. You can find the recipe HERE. The word excellent has reminded me of some urgent & overdue stuff to be done. I have received this lovely award three times; once each from Susan @ Food Blogga, Joy @ Joy the Baker & from Andrew @ New…

WEEKEND HERB BLOGGING WITH NASTURCIUMS…the pretty edible flower!!
“In seed time learn, in harvest teach, in winter enjoy.” William Blake Weekend herb blogging with flowers & herbs! Summer is almost beating down on us & we harvested the last of the nasturtiums over the weekend. The garden was literally over-run by these very pretty & hardy flowers. The burst of colour has now gone…but I have a fine bunch of pressed flowers & leaves, & seeds collected for next year. Ever since I read online that nasturtiums are edible flowers (their leaves too), have been keen to throw them into…

“There is greater relish for the earliest fruit of the season.” Marcus Valerius Martialis, Roman poet Fruits at work…Strawberry, Kiwi, Orange & Basil The minute winter begins to go away, the mind defrosts & begins to work overtime again. There is so much colour in the fruits & veggies appearing on the shelves, that I find it impossible to sit back & relax!! This is the result of one such instance…one fruity dessert that I tried for the first time last year & we loved it. It’s very simple as there’s no cooking involved; full of fruit, full of flavour, & colourful as ever. Very tropical & summery feel to…

“Good food gladdens the heart.” Author Unknown Panna Cotta with Strawberry Coulis… An elegant, simple Italian dessert. Creamy & incredibly satisfying!
