BAKING

Soothing Blue and Green Cake …my canvas!!

” Happy and successful cooking doesn’t rely only on know-how; it comes from the heart, makes great demands on the palate and needs enthusiasm and a deep love of food to bring it to life. “ …. Georges Blanc, Ma Cuisine des Saisons
Here’s one I did for my Dad’s birthday. I ran out of ideas, was just browsing around, and saw this design on some linen. My love for the blue-green combo reflects in this cake. The basic cake is from the Hershey’s Chocolate Cake recipe from their website, and the icing is of whipped cream with vanilla essence and sugar.

About me: I am a freelance food writer, recipe developer and photographer. Food is my passion - baking, cooking, developing recipes, making recipes healthier, using fresh seasonal produce and local products, keeping a check on my carbon footprint and being a responsible foodie! I enjoy food styling, food photography, recipe development and product reviews. I express this through my food photographs which I style and the recipes I blog. My strength lies in 'Doing Food From Scratch'; it must taste as good as it looks, and be healthy too. Baking in India, often my biggest challenge is the non-availability of baking ingredients, and this has now become a platform to get creative on. I enjoy cooking immensely as well.

Hi there Poonam. You are certainly unique coz you are the first one to visit my blog on the day I set it up. What do you like to bake? Maybe you can begin with muffins or simple cookies, as iced cakes take a lot of practice.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I'd love to hear from you.
