About me: I am a freelance food writer, recipe developer and photographer. Food is my passion - baking, cooking, developing recipes, making recipes healthier, using fresh seasonal produce and local products, keeping a check on my carbon footprint and being a responsible foodie! I enjoy food styling, food photography, recipe development and product reviews. I express this through my food photographs which I style and the recipes I blog. My strength lies in 'Doing Food From Scratch'; it must taste as good as it looks, and be healthy too. Baking in India, often my biggest challenge is the non-availability of baking ingredients, and this has now become a platform to get creative on. I enjoy cooking immensely as well.

Oh la la mademoiselle! So pretty and what a lovely combination. You are really enjoying the Ottolenghi cookbook:)

As I told you already- It is very bewildering how the same batch cooked on the same sheet in the same oven can yield so many varying results!!!

  • The Cooking Ninja

Those look gorgeous. I got to try my macs at different temperature. It seems this time around it doesn't work for me at 150°C. Strange!

  • Jamie

These macarons look beautiful, I love all of your photos. I must get myself a copy of this Ottolenghi cookbook as I have heard so many great things about it. I have had a couple of trays were just a few macs had feet, it's very strange as I know my first ever batch had feet all over the tray. Thank you for all your encouragement with mine too. Hopefully next time I will find my feet too.

Congratulations, Deeba. I'd say your macarons win first prize! They are picture perfect. I really, really have to get the Ottolenghi cookbook.

  • Dragana

Deeba, you blogging is unbelievable! How do you do the feet? So cute! Thanks for the beautiful pictures and recipe.

  • foodie ffanatic

Beautiful, happy feet! I still have not attempted macs. I will probably try them first at my daughter's house since she had such good results on only her second try. (Plus then I can leave them there – if they are at my apartment I won't be able to resist.) Your photographs are stunning, as always. *hugs* to you darling Deeba! See you on Twitter. Dani

  • michael

These are awesome macarons you made. Thank you for sharing with us your recipe as when I try to make my version of macaron, it always turns out to be hard. How can you make it chewy? I would really want to bake a perfect macaron one of this days which goes well with a cup of coffee. Great posts and very nice photography. Thanks!

  • Smita

Just chanced across your blog today. Glad to see such a wonderful Indian baker!! And thank you for all those eggless recipes!! What do you think is a good cream cheese substitute? We do get Philadelphia cream cheese in mumbai but I wouldn't want to buy anything so expensive for trying out something amateur. Can you help?

  • Dharm

those mac photos are simply stunning. Love all the shots and not only are the pictures perfect, the Macs are too!!

  • Eisley Jacobs

They do look beautiful! But I am so not a macaron maker… In fact, I don't even think I have ever eaten one!

But it almost makes me want to try… almost. LOL I hate failure in the kitchen 😉

  • Jeanne @ Cooksister!

Wow – it's just mac mania out there 😉 Yours look just perfect Deeba, and such a clever use of the stuff from our goodie bags!

  • Avanika [YumsiliciousBakes]

I'm in awe of how you always turn out great looking macs.. I hate failing in the kitchen, maybe that's why I haven't tried these yet!

  • SavoringTime in the Kitchen

I just found your blog through Christie at The Table Runner. I am so impressed with your macaroons! I have been wanting to try them but haven't gotten the courage yet. I think the recipe you shared sounds wonderful!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I'd love to hear from you.
