TRAVEL
There was a time I loved traveling, both around the world and across India. I've travelled in the 'golden years' ... nostalgic words a Virgin cabin crew on a flight to London recently said when she heard that I first visited the UK in 1989, and almost a 100 times after. While going around the globe has been most beautiful, travelling the length & breadth of India is by far my favourite, absolutely fascinating. While a number of my travels have gone undocumented on the blog, there are still quite a few here. I am forever grateful for the experience.

A Traditional Cake Mixing Ceremony…can you hear the bells ringing?
“Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love!” Hamilton Wright Mabie Time flies and how. Seems like the year is on a gallop. I missed the walk, the trot and the canter completely. Every day is whizzing by; it’s October already! That winter is almost here struck me when some of my girlfriends like Barbara began the ’12 weeks to Christmas Cookies’ countdown. Then a few days ago I got an invite to a ‘traditional cake mixing ceremony‘, and I was like “Whoa? Is it the time of the year already?“ Traditional Cake Mixing Ceremony The age old ceremony of cake mixing starts a few…

INSPIRED GREEN CHUTNEY CHICKEN…
“The smell and taste of things remain poised a long time, like souls, ready to remind us….” Marcel Proust I ran a fun giveaway for CSN Stores a short while ago and on offer was a Delonghi Grill or a CuisineArt Ice Cream Maker. The other day Jess from the CSN Promo Team wrote in to say they selected me as a CSN Preferred Blogger. What that meant was another chance to either review a product or give one away to readers of Passionate About Baking from their store Just Vanities or any of their other 200+online stores. I chose to host the giveaway, and you choose how you would…

European Art of Taste – EAT … The taste of Europe on Indian Grounds
“The most indispensable ingredient of all good home cooking: love, for those you are cooking for.” Sophia Loren The other day I was excited to receive an invite for a Press Conference and cooking demo, followed by lunch at Smoke House Deli, from Caroline Rowe, on behalf of the hosts of EAT. EAT stands for ‘EUROPEAN ART of TASTE‘, a program supported by the European Union and the Italian Government that aims to present the best of Food and Wine from Europe. EAT promotes the following four product categories across India – Pasta, Olive Oil, Provolone Cheese & Wine. As EAT says, with the saturation of European products in the…

Sights & sounds of Old Delhi, a walk through a different world!
“We talk, we bake, we laugh, we are!” Jamie @ Life’s A Feast via twitter I love the jingle to that opening quote. It pretty much sums up our foodie lives taken over by blogging, baking, twittering… Comes via twitter from my friend Jamie – a mad-hatter American in Paris!! Sorry I’ve been a bit slack of late. Time continues to fly by & I’ve been a tad busy of late. Time flies otherwise as well, or maybe it’s just that I’m getting old. After all, my little blog here is turning 2 today! It’s been a long, fun journey, & I can’t believe I’ve come such a long way,…

Sydney Without a Beach Visit is like Cake Without Frosting… Part IV!
Part IV of my Sydney travelogue covers a beautiful beach we went to, after crossing the Harbour Bridge & entering North Sydney. A visit to Sydney is incomplete without a visit to the beach (or better still, beaches). It’s true…& more so for kids. We stopped by Bondi the last time we visited, which was in June of 2004…cold, windy but beautiful. This time we decided to explore Balmoral. Balmoral features Balmoral and Edwards Beaches, both of which are separated by the outcrop of Rocky Point. Both beaches are usually referred to as simply Balmoral.A stunning beach, with a beautiful island of it’s own, Rocky Point. The boys had a…
